Extension

Yeah, I have had my contract extended for another 3 months. There are 4 contractors in our area and only 2 of us have had our contracts extended. This may change when Johnny calls the election and we go into caretaker mode. I am happy with us and I was the last one to be put on. The people are great were I work and I get on well with all of them (so that helps). There is only on sad thing though, my boss lady is moving position and she is a great boss and person and I will miss her greatly.

School holidays have started and both the boys are getting up very early. Brad and I should get to work early but today we didn't, hopefully tomorrow.

Nothing exciting really, I need to get going and doing some housework.

Take care

pat on the back

I have decided to pat myself (and Brad) on the back. God we are good parents. I have been very unwell over the last few days and both my boys have looked after me so well. I also had a great compliment today about both my boys and what nice polite boys they are.

Last year, there were certain people who made us feel like we were such bad parents. But we are so over those people. We know what great parents we are.

I (and the rest of the family) are so excited!!!! Our fantastic friends Ian and Sandy are expecting their second child. Anyone who knows us, just knows how we just love their little girl Ash and we can't wait for this baby. It was also Ash birthday. Happy birthday Princess.

I have joined a on-line bookclub and I just started reading the book. So far so good.

Got to go and get ready for tomorrow.

Bye

update

I haven't updated for such long time. I don't know if anyone will read this but I don't really care.

I have been tagged a little while ago so here I go.

Name three things that scare you. Spiders, Brad driving in the wet weather and my kids being bullied and being bullied myself.

The daggiest thing in your music collection. I don't think they are daggy but many people do. I have a Doris Day album, the Bay City Rollers, Gina Jefferies, Cliff Richard, 2 Cool for Kids etc

Your three favourite clothing items. My cookie monster pjs, a brown cardigan (Brad hates it) & my red top (too hard to describe)

Your partner's most annoying habit. He always think he is right (99.9% of the time he is), and not being able to throw anything away therefore my house, garage and back yard has alot of junk lying around.

What stresses you out? Getting a letter in my letterbox from my "special friends",(still happens). Answering selection criterias for jobs, seeing 'people' from that community who say nasty things to my face.

If I could change the world I would get revenge on a certain community (only joking), try to help all the children in the world, through clothing, education etc. Peace! I also would teach people how their actions (and words) can really do damage to other people.

Your favourite household chore watching Brad clean the house with a chocolate in one hand and a pepsi max in the other.

If you had fifty bucks to spend at Target which section would you head straight for: the lolly section and buy up big. YUM!!!!

In my next life I would like to come back as myself but much better looking (I think good looking people get what they want) and/or a male (they get the teaching jobs regardless if they are good or not), sore point.

Your least favourite celebrity Jim Carey, Prince Charles, Russell Crowe

There you go. Have fun reading the above.

Lots of things have happened lately. I have been working lately (not as a teacher, I had to decide whether to 'play' the game' and hopefully get a school that won't listen to that community or just bite the bullet and get a job, I decide for the latter). I'm glad I have my job, it's challenging and the people are fantastic to work with. I will be very sad to say goodbye when I finish in a few weeks. At the moment I am madly looking for another job to go to. Hopefully, something will come up. I am so sick of applying for jobs and not even getting an interview (I even have people who look at my selection criteria and they can't understand why I am not getting an interview). I'm not too worried, I don't mine if I have to stay at home (sorry Brad).

The boys are doing well both at school and on the social front. Liam has settled well into school. It is amazing how a good caring school makes such a difference. He said to me the other day that he was glad he has left his old school and is now at this school because he feels so much safer. He feels that it is okay to make friends, he is not scared to make friends now because he knows that the teachers will protect him if he is bullied.

Both of them are doing very well at orienteering. Declan decided not to go for the ACT rep team as he just missed out last year and it really disappointed him. So the pressure is off this year and he is doing very well and really enjoying it. Liam map skills are so good, thank God I have him with me or I would be lost.

Brad is doing well. He now works in Civic. We occasionally travel together to and from work but often I catch the bus because I'm not ready in time. Brad only has to get himself ready, I got myself and the kids plus if he is early he can get a free carpark at his work.

Sorry for the long posting. I am so contended and happy and feel very lucky with my family and friends.

take care

tagged

Hi, I have been tagged by very pretty yvette. Thank you I never have been tagged before so I will give it a go.

RULES: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to blog about their seven things and post the rules as well. At the end of your blog, you need to choose 7 people to get tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them that they have been tagged and to read your blog!

1. I am addicted to TV. I love shows such as Dr Phil, Oprah, Spicks and Specks and Deal or No Deal. I also love home shows such as Grand Designs (ABC) and Better homes etc. This is why we are not allowed to have Foxtel.

2. I once went to a tutorial drunk and had to do a presentation (the tutorial started at 6pm and I had 3 hours to waste so I and one of my young friend, he was 19 decided to have a few drinks. You all probably thinking what's new all uni students drink, I was 36 yrs old. I did get a HD for this presentation).

3. I love Cliff Richard. I even met him (so of). Plus I love John Denver, now I have Liam liking his music as well. Brad thinks this is child abuse and I don't like

4. When I was 7 yrs old I feel off a slippery dip/slide and ended up in hospital for a little while with 10 stitches in my head.

5. I also had three stitches in my head when I was in Year 7 because a friend hit me on the head with a golf stick (by accident so she said but I did steal her boyfriend).

6. I hate it when people are rude about children calling them retards because they are different from others. Or they take medications for a disorder that they know nothing about. Or bullies, (not just kids but adults who bully parents).

7. When Brad and I were in Amsterdam a guy called me a 'dope' so I started abusing him until Brad explained that he was asking if I wanted to buy some dope. (Yeah, I really into drugs).

Thanks Yvette for this tag.

Thanks for reading.

I've got worms.

Yep, I have worms. About 2000 of them. They wriggle and squirm and are really slimy. Brad, Liam and I went yesterday to a great place here in Canberra (Back to the Future) and bought them. I have fed them with some my scraps and really seem to like it. I have named a few of them:

Wendy and Steve (they have the spa in the worm farm), Donna S (she is the one that email the other worms with the jokes), Chris (you always see his 'plumber's crack), Sue E, (always happy to see everyone), Dave (works hard and is rarely seen), Leanne (the one everyone goes to for advice about drugs), Craig, Barry and Brad (these guys try to do kite surfing, weight boarding, to out do Steve). Sue K (occasionally seen, when seen is always late). Pauline (the sexy, good looking, smart but can't find a job), Lois (the one that visits the other lands). Jo (always playing sport), Alan (the party animal). Others are named: Declan, Liam, Cassie, Emilie, Emily, Charolette, Sean, Gillian, Allora, Caroline, Alyssa, Joel, Kate, Sarah, Steph, Fraser.

The names of the worms are not related to anyone that I know and are purely 'fictional' (yeah right).

Hope no-one is offended.

have fun and be good

Wakefield Park

Today Brad has a 'trackday' at Wakefield Park in Goulburn. I just loved watching his face as he raced around the track. He throughly enjoyed his day. I thought it was boring but I did have fun watching (and timing) Brad. I couldn't believe that I didn't get scared when he was going very fast. It was a beautiful day and it was nice just having Brad to myself. He is such a great person, except he did call me Big Bum.

Can't wait for the weekend, very busy. I also plan to scrap tomorrow for the day (Friday). Have a great day.

We're back

We are back from Newcastle (one day earlier than expected). Brad wanted to come home and have Monday as a relaxing day. We had a great weekend. We didn't get there until 4.00pm and then went to my niece's (T) place for dinner. Just love spending time with her, my sister and the rest of the family that was there. My niece's daugther (E) is so cute (my niece is over 30 years old) and reminds me alot of (T) when she was little. My two boys just love her. They have talked non stop about (E). The drive was long because of the traffic on the F3.

Today we were going for a bike ride but it is raining (Liam is very happy about this, he thinks he will play the playstation all day, yeah right). I think we might go to the movies or visit some friends.

Thanks to everyone to making a comment both on here and on emailing. Haven't heard on the job front yet but it really only been a week. I am going to apply to the NSW education so I can get my 'card' to do relief teaching in NSW and maybe with T and V (my sister) and I will start putting my name down at local public schools. Hopefully this will start giving us some money.

Can't wait for next weekend. We are going to a friend's place for a BBQ. Just love these people and we always have fun.

Congratulations to my Liam. He got 100% on his spelling test. It is a big thing because he really struggles with his writing and spelling. His new school is so good at helping children who needs specific help in their weak areas. Liam is so happy at the moment with his new school. He is off to camp in two weeks and he can't wait.

Just one more thing. I am thinking of going with Brad to Nan Tien temple at Wollongong to do a weekend of meditation. I however have discovered that you are not allowed to talk. OMG!!! Brad is very keen (I don't why he is). Still might go and 'tough' it out. Whole weekend of not speaking. I am sure you can talk in the bedroom, Brad said you are not.

take care

Sky fire

On Saturday we all went to Skyfire. It is the fireworks to start the celebrations of Canberra. It was totally amazing. The F-111 was awesome. The boys were glued watching the fireworks. Even Declan (who is 14) was amazed. We arrived there at 6.30pm found a great spot, had chicken sandwiches, lots of junk food and settled down for the fireworks.

On the job front. Absolutely nothing!!! I have applied for so many and haven't heard from one. I have my name down at six agencies and they haven't anything on the books at the moment. I have had several schools ring me to do relief work but with what happened over the last two years have really taken it toll. I have no self confidence relating to teaching (thanks to certain people) therefore at the moment I have low self esteem relating to the job front. I know I will get my confidence very soon.

Anyhow, thanks for reading.

take care

Great weekend

What a week. The storms have been totally awesome. On Tuesday night Brad and I opened the blinds switched off the lights and watch the lightning and talked for about two hours. It was amazing and fun. We were lucky we did not get the hail.

I have been doing a lot of 'things'. Doing job applications, doing some receipe cards for scrapboxx, sleeping during the day, having a facial. Life's hard, yeah right.

This weekend (Saturday) it is one my one closest and favourite friend's 40th birthday. Happy birthday Ian. He is not having a party so we are having lunch not too sure where, probably Manuka. Sunday Brad and Declan is off to Sydney for the day, Liam has a party to go too at the ice skating ring, so I probably ended up at the hospital (only joking, I hope).

Next week I will be doing more job applications etc. I suppose I should do some housework.

Have a great weekend.

A pressie

Two blogs in one day.

I had a lovely surprise tonight. My boys had finished their tennis lessons when the gorgeous Emilie gave me a gift from a student (J) who I taught when I was doing relief. J had left the school with two weeks left to visit relatives overseas and she bought me a present back. What a great surprise!!! I must not have been that bad as a teacher (even though no one will give me a job as a teacher, not my fault). It is a wonderful 'cork' ornament. I haven't seen J since November and she is now in Year 7.

What a lucky person I am.

I'm back on board

Hi,

Haven't posted for a little while been busy one day and then very lazy the next.

Friday night was one of the best night I have had in a long time. It really made me realise what great friends I have and that I do need to be much nicer to them. I have to post this comment for my beautiful friend Tracey, Nicole and Renee.

I'M SORRY TRACEY!!

I'M SORRY RENEE!!

I forgot to to invite them to my stamp party. So I have been slack in the friends department recently but not any more. Friday night really made me realise has lucky I am to have these people in my life (A bit of champagne helped as well). Had a great time at Donna's last night, dinner was lovely. Thanks Donna

I am madly applying for positions with the PS at the moment hoping someone will take this old used person on for a job. I have applied for 15 jobs and still going.

I have taken up a challenge to make 12 receipe cards and a tin for scrapboxx. I am really scared and worried that the people who receive my will not like it.

Anyway, I better go and keep doing my application.

Sunday 18 February 2007

wow, what a week

What an week!!

I have started looking for work. Ringing agencies, sent out my CV and have not heard from one of them. I have two degrees and yet and can't get work. Maybe next week. Met Liam's new teacher and found out that he is so far behind his peers that she thinks he needs to have an assistant. Boy, Brad and I are very angry about this, his last school told us that was 'bright' now he is struggling. Liam is enjoying the school though so that is a bonus.

Both the boys are back to school life. Busy and active with music, orienteering and tennis. Liam now wants to learn to dance (his best friend mum runs a great dance studio). I'm not too sure but we shall see.

My sister, her DH and DD came to visit. I love it when they come. They are great people and we just love having them visit us. Her DH has offered to help us in the re-landscaping our back yard. He is a get up and go type of person. He has given us ideas on how put in the garden beds (for a vegie patch) and where to put our rain water tank (of course we don't have a tank at the moment and it is raining).

I have been doing a bit of scrapbooking this week. I will be posting them soon. I also have a 'swap' to complete from scrapboxx. I am excited and scared about doing it. I just hope I can do a good job. I am going shopping tomorrow at different scrap shops.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. (Herm Albright)

HAVE A GREAT WEEK.....

tired and bored

Where did the weekend go? We went to lunch on Saturday with some friends at a local restaurant. It was great. Great food, drink and fantastic company. After that I just don't know where the rest of the week end has gone.

Declan spend most of the day at one of his friend's today while Liam, Brad and I just sat around not doing anything. Really boring at the moment. Great news though, it has rained yesterday and most of today. We have many buckets of water filled for when it doesn't rain.

My sister and family are going to visit some time this week on their way to Victoria for a gardening show. I will have to clean over the next few days but really excited.

The boys have had a great first week at school, especially Liam, which is a relief. Liam enjoys the school and the teacher and made the remark "At least the nightmare is over". I am not too sure what he meant so I will be talking with him over the next few days.

I have posted one of my favourite photos I shot when I was away last year with the orienteering squad in Victoria.

New school for Liam

My youngest (Liam) started at his new school today. Brad and I decided to take him out of his other school due to being bullied. He is now in Year 5. I was extremely worried as he is very small for his age (only just got into size 6 clothes), has ADD and has a small speech problem therefore he is a perfect target for bullies.

Liam stated he was very nervous and scared. I dropped him off at the library and didn't get to say goodbye. I was lucky to have a friend whose child goes to the school. I cried my heart out, thinking have I done the right thing, will Liam be okay? I went home and cried, phoned DH (Brad) who stated that Liam would be alright, not understanding how I felt. Tried to get on with the housework etc. but every now and then I would start to cry. I couldn't wait to pick him up.

Yep, I hate to admit it but Brad was right, Liam had fun and I am a big sook. He was so talkative and loved his first day. I was amazed how many of the other children would say bye to Liam at the end of the day and he didn't get bullied at all. He also had a comment from some other kids in his class, telling him how cool he is. I know it is only the first day but hopefully this is a positive sign.

Declan (DS1) went back to school, Year 9. Had the attitude, didn't want to go etc, etc. Came home, stating that he disliked most of his teachers. However, at dinner he was telling us positive things about the teachers. He also had a phone call from one of his friends asking about homework, (tried to hide it from his mum).

I need to stop worrying so much and get on with my life. Now I have to go and start looking for employment. Not necessarily in teaching (although I would love too), maybe in the public service. I am really looking forward to the next few weeks and start doing some more scrapping.

thanks for reading.

HAPPY 14TH BIRTHDAY!!!

Happy Birthday to my darling son, Declan. He turned 14 years today.

I still remember when he was born at 2am. He was such a beautiful baby and is growing into a beautiful man.

He is a cheeky, smart alec teenager but he still has compassion for his family. He just loves his little brother almost as much as chocolate (trust me, he really loves his chocolate). He is very intelligent, smart and good looking (I think so anyway). I just enjoy listening to his conversations with his dad and watching him will looking after animals.

His dad and I are so proud of him and just love him to bits.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DECLAN!! MAY ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE.

(PS. Please begin to study this year, LOL)

I'm back

Well, the school holidays are well and truly over. These holidays went extremely fast. The trip to Queensland was fantastic.
We left on Saturday 13th Jan and stay at Dad's overnight in Newcastle. We then drove to Ballina where we stayed overnight. The hotel room was not the best, relatively cheap though. The best thing was the dinner at the Mexican Restaurant. YUM, YUM, it was the best mexican food we ever had. The next day we drove to Byron Bay to have a quick look around. I really liked the area and would love to live there but it would have to be beach front (of course). Then we travelled to our holiday destination at Palm Beach.

It was great. The rooms were big, roomy and nice. It had Foxtel, (which both Liam (DS2) and I loved) and the pool was very nice and clean. The beach was only a small walk down a lane way. Nearly every morning, Declan (DS1) and I went for walks along the beach, usually before it rained. It only rained for about 1 hour in the morning. We went to the theme parks but the most fun was on the beach or in the pool. I really would love a pool but it gets to cold in the mornings. here in Canberra.

Before we knew it, it was time to go home. We didn't want to leave as we had so much fun. I have posted some photos which I will scrap over the next few weeks.

Liam starts at his new school tomorrow, he is going into year 5. Both Brad and I are very nervous and hope that this school will help Liam. Declan doesn't start until Tuesday (Year 9, OMG I must be getting old). He also turns 14 tomorrow. This time 14 years ago I was in pain!!!!! but it was worth it.

Happy New Year

Yeah!!! A new blog. I won't be posting too much over the next few weeks as we will be on holidays. So I will be posting when I get back.

Have a great day!
